Handy Hints

We recommend that certified tradespeople remove and re-install your existing/or new kitchen appliances, even if you are not changing their position.

You will also need to co-ordinate suitable Formica® benchtop installation and benchtop kitchen appliance cut-outs in accordance with manufacturer’s specifications.

Customised Formica® benchtops are available in a range of Formica® colours and profiles. We recommend customised Formica® benchtops with Mason’s mitre joins where benchtop corner joins are required.

When designing your kitchen layout, don’t forget to position your sink bowls over base cabinets as they cannot be installed over drawers, base oven cabinets, open shelf units or dishwashers.

For plumbing convenience you should place the dishwasher close to the sink allowing a minimum 600mm space.

Allow ample space either side of cooktop (min. 450/500mm) for safety and convenient bench workspace. You should allow a minimum of 650mm between your cooktop and rangehood.

Don’t install oven/cooktop next to a wall as overheating may occur. Allow a minimum of 450mm.

Always use a Multipurpose Infill Panel between your cabinet and wall so that doors can be fully opened and easily accessible. Drawers placed in a corner can make it difficult to access other cabinets.

Please ensure you have all packs and items prior to commencement of assembly. For more information call 132 136. We recommend you assemble all Formica® Kit Solutions within the room in which you or your nominated installer are installing the cabinet, as not all Formica® Kits will be able to fit through doorways, corridors or entrances due to height and width of cabinet once assembled.
